Westwood Hires New CFO
Previous CFO Raymond Herr left the borough for Paramus in May.

The Westwood Council unanimously approved Durene Ayer as the borough's new CFO during their meeting this week.
The position will be 25 hours per week at a rate of $62 per hour, according to Councilman William Phayre. Ayer is scheduled to start October 1 and will transition into the position with help from the current acting CFO and borough tax collector Stephanie Stokes.
"I think she'll be a very good addition to the staff," Mayor John Birkner said.

Officials have been looking for a new CFO since the former full-time CFO Raymond Herr announced in May that he would be .
Phayre said officials decided to replace Herr with a part-time CFO because they believed a 25-hour position would still be enough, in conjunction with other finance department staff, to get all the work done. Herr was previously shared with Hillsdale before he left.
