Westwood Schools Close: See Message, Updated Forecast

The Westwood schools decided early Thursday to close. See the list of Bergen County schools closed and the forecast.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The Westwood schools posted a message early Thursday saying schools were closed.

At 6:40 a.m., they wrote: "Due to the timing of the forecasted inclement weather and icy road conditions, the Westwood Regional School District will be closed today, Thursday, February 6, 2025. Please stay warm and be safe."

Hillsdale schools also closed. Pascack Valley posted a 2-hour delay. See the complete list here.

A winter weather advisory was issued for Bergen County starting at 4 a.m. on Thursday and running through 1 p.m. that afternoon. Expect slippery roads. (Two more snowstorms are looming, forecasters say; read about those here.)

The forecast is: "Snow, possibly mixed with sleet before 8am, then snow and sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 8am and noon, then rain likely after noon." 1-2 inches of accumulation are expected.
