Wyckoff Culvert Replacement May Impact Commute: NJ Assemblyman

An upcoming road work alert was issued to District 40 residents.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A major project slated to take over a half-mile stretch of Route 208 in Wyckoff will impact 40th District travelers, Assemblyman Kevin Rooney (NJ-40) said.

Scheduled for a target start date of April 28, a New Jersey Department of Transportation project will replace the culvert and guide rail from milepost 6 to 6.63 on the state highway, according to Rooney and a previous report.

The $3.9 million project is primarily to replace the culvert — which is distorted and was rated in poor condition — with a reinforced elliptical concrete pipe to accommodate a 25-year storm event, Patch reported.

While work is being performed, there will be a shoulder closure with a construction barrier curb in both directions, Rooney said.

Start and completion dates for the project — awarded to a Hackensack contractor — are subject to change due to weather and logistics, the report and assemblyman said.
