'Faithful Communicant' Of Wyckoff Church Dies At 87

A faithful member of a Wyckoff church will be remembered in the township next week.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A faithful communicant of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, Michael Lampadarios, passed away Friday at age 87, and will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him at a funeral service in the township next week, an obituary published by Vander Plaat Funeral Home said.

Born in Kalymnos, Greece, Lampadarios died in a hospice center in Florida last week; he moved to the state from Westwood, New Jersey.

Lampadarios served 30 years as deputy superintendent in the New York State Correctional System. He was granted a master's degree from the Long Island University C.W. Post Campus, a private college in Brookville.

He was also a dedicated member of the Masonic bodies.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters and a sister, and was preceded in death by his wife Nancy in 2004, the obituary said.
