WYCKOFF, NJ — A new, 3,000-square-foot warehouse facility featuring a food pantry and nonprofit shop for families in need has officially opened in Wyckoff, a spokesperson for the organization Families for Families said.

Over the weekend, Families for Families, a nonprofit connecting families to resources, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility, which will allow the organization to step up outreach efforts in the community, the organization said.

“(Saturday) was a significant milestone for our organization and we were so touched by the turnout,” nonprofit President Cristyn Madley said. “We have so much planned for the people in our program and having the support has been such a blessing for us. It allows us to give our families the best we can, so they can do the best they can for themselves and their families.”

During the event, dozens of volunteers and donors involved with the organization had a chance to tour the new space and learn more about how the organization serves families and about what’s in store for the future, the organization said.

“I am so proud of Cristyn and her team for all they’ve accomplished in such a short period of time," Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur, who was also in attendance along with Wyckoff Township Committee members, said. "It is my pleasure to support such a wonderful organization that is doing so much for those in our community."

Adding to Families for Families food delivery program is the new pantry; Jenny Wells, who has extensive experience and first-hand knowledge of food-insecurity issues, runs the program, the nonprofit said. A shop stocked with household goods, furniture and clothing for program families will also be included at the facility.

Families for Families' food pantry is open from 3 to 5 p.m. on Fridays, 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays at Garden State Industrial Complex on 250 Braen Ave in Wyckoff. Visitors can also make an appointment or learn more about the pantry by emailing foodprogram@families4families.com or texting 347-572-5335.
