Letter: Township Must Protect Remaining Space

To the Editor:

I am writing regarding the 26 acres of property off of Maple Drive in Wyckoff, commonly referred to as Maple Lake. I understand that there is the opportunity for the Township of Wyckoff to acquire all or part of Maple Lake and preserve it as an open space area within the township through the use of State of New Jersey Green Acres funding.  
 
My wife and I have been a residents of Wyckoff for 38 years and are troubled by the disappearance of open space in Wyckoff. I am also concerned about the adverse impact on our community of any construction of new homes on the Maple Lake property. As a community I believe it is imperative that we preserve and protect our remaining open spaces.
