Mood Music: Druids Play Thatcher McGhee's Tonight
Irish Rebel Band playing in Pompton Lakes from 6 to 9 p.m.
If you just aren't "feeling" St. Patrick's Day quite yet, head to Thatcher McGhee's in Pompton Lakes tonight. If the Guiness, Harp and Smithwick's on tap, traditional fare and quintessential Irish ambiance don't get you in the mood, tonight's musical guest is certain to move you into the spirit of the High Holy day.
The Druids, a four-piece "Irish Rebel Band" from Kildare, Ireland, play tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. With players named Paddy Mangan, Gary Lawlor, Darren Egan and Mick O' Brien, you don't get more Irish than that.
The band burst onto the Irish music scene in 2009. They spent last St. Patrick's Day playing in Belgium and are currently on their first American tour. Tomorrow night, they are playing at the Parlor Bar, 86th and Broadway, at 5:30 p.m., before heading out to Yonkers for a 10:30 p.m. gig. On Thursday, the lads will be at Ri Ra in Atlantic City for the big day.
