School Budgets Pass
Unofficial results show McGowen and Loprete to return to board. Lanini wins Wyckoff seat on RIH board.
The voters of Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Wyckoff sent the message that they support local schools by passing the 2011-12 regional school budget 2,241 to 1,373.
Franklin Lakes voters also approved the local school budget
For the local school board, voters returned trustees Larry Loprete and Susan McGowan, by 675 and 561 votes, respectively, and voted to appoint newcomer Craig Urcioli to the school's governing body. Urcioli received 480 votes, while school board veteran Carolyn Reitz was ousted with 410 votes. Another newcomer, Jamie Martino will join the board after running unopposed for an unexpired term, for which he garnered 516 votes.

In addition to passing the Ramapo-Indian Hills $49 million budget, voters approved the K-8 district's $27.6 million budget, by an almost 2 to 1 majority.
Between the two budgets, Franklin Lakes residents pay slightly less than $400 less for school taxes for the average home assessed at $1,032,252.

Wyckoff voters supported both of their budgets, despite the tax increase it was presented for both school districts.
No Franklin Lakes seats on the RIH Board were on the ballot this year. Wyckoff voters elected Isabelle Lanini for the seat vacated by trustee Jeff Brown. Oakland trustess Sadie Quinlan and Jane Castor ran unopposed for their seats.
