NFL Players Take On FLPD and WFD For Charity Basketball Night

Saturday night fundraiser at Ramapo High School to benefit Gift of Life.

Firemen put out fires, policemen fight crime and the NFL plays football. This Saturday night, all that will change as the Franklin Lakes Police Department, the Wyckoff Fire Department and students and faculty at Ramapo High School take on current and former professional football players on the basketball court.

The Ramapo Interact Club is sponsoring its first ever celebrity basketball tournament fundraiser this Saturday at 7 p.m. See local teachers and emergency workers take on the likes of former Giants running back Lee Rouson, Steelers linebacker Rian Wallace, former Eagles running back Reggie Brown, former Jets Defensive End Lou Benafatti, Patriots safety Shawn Mayer, Raiders cornerback Joey Porter, Darnell Stapleton of the Steelers and more.

The event raises funds for Gift of Life and is being put together in coordination with the Dreams for Kids Foundation, which stresses character education and making good choices, and Rotary international is participating as well.
