NJ Transit Train Strikes, Kills Woman In Garfield
Rail service on the Bergen County Line has resumed in both directions with delays, NJ Transit officials announced.
GARFIELD, NJ — Service on NJ Transit's Bergen County Line was suspended between Glen Rock and Rutherford in both directions this morning after a transit train struck and killed a woman near Garfield.
Service has resumed as of 12:36 p.m., NJ Transit officials announced.
NJ Transit police were on the scene, leading the investigation into the death, which occurred around 9:39 a.m.

According to NJ Transit, a train that was out of service for customers, and was being moved along the Bergen County Line, struck and fatally injured an adult female pedestrian at Van Winkle Avenue in Garfield.
No commuters or customers were onboard, and none of the eight crew members were injured.
