Quilter, Former MetLife Employee Of Wyckoff Dies At 91

WYCKOFF, NJ — A former MetLife employee of Wyckoff who was an active member of a Bergen County quilters guild passed away Tuesday at age 91, her obituary published by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home said.

Born in 1930 in New York, Emily Carey worked for the insurance agency headquartered in New York, and was an active member of the Brownstone Quilters. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, and vacationing at the Jersey Shore, her obituary said.

Carey, a graduate of New York's Cathedral High School, volunteered at many organizations throughout her life. Predeceased by her husband Joseph, she was a sister, aunt, godmother, and family and friend to many, her obituary added.
