Ramsey, Kelly and Kahwaty To Run Unopposed for Council Seats

Local primary election uncontested

Franklin Lakes Council President Paulette Ramsey will run unopposed along with fellow republicans Joseph F. Kelly and Councilman Charles Kahwaty for seats on the local governing body this November. No Democrats have filed to run for election.

Kahwaty received 239 votes in the primary, Kelly received 230 and Ramsey receieved 225 votes. Just 4 percent of registered voters came out for the election.

Also on the November ballot District 40 seats for state Senate and Assembly. Rupublicans David Russo (Ridgewood) and Scott Rumana (Wayne) will take on two Democratic challengers William Brennan and Cassandra Lazzarra in the November election for Assembly seats. For Senate Republican Kevin O'Toole will face Demorcratic challenger John Zunic.
