RIH BOE President Judy Sullivan Inspires the Class of 2023

On June 22, students in the graduating classes of Ramapo High School and Indian Hills High School, their families, friends and educators were all treated to an amazing graduation speech from Board President Judy Sullivan.

Judy represents transparency, integrity and compassion. She has consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, thoughtfulness. Her work on the Board is always meticulous. During her three-and-a-half-year tenure, Ms. Sullivan has earned a reputation for the high quality of her work, conscientiousness and mutually respectful relationship with constituents across the FLOW community. Ms. Sullivan receives countless emails and other communications thanking her for her hard work and transparency. Ms. Sullivan has many academic, philanthropic, educational, legal and professional successes.

She generously gives so much of her time to the Ramapo Indian Hills BOE and the FLOW community, reaching a tremendous amount of favorable outcomes, especially with complex policy negotiations, legal and financial issues, educational matters, and her family's charitable endeavors. The FLOW community has benefited from Ms. Sullivan’s sincere concern and desire to do good things for the district’s children. Ms. Sullivan works diligently on the Board of Education for all stakeholders. She is a model citizen, fully engaged in the civic and community issues that affect not only the students in the district but all stakeholders. She isn’t afraid to tackle hard issues or tough questions and always displayed the most ethical measured behavior in her responses and actions. Ms. Sullivan has been teaching for many years as an admired professor at both the college and law school levels, and accomplished lawyer for almost 40 years, making her a critically articulate and engaging Board of Education member. Ms. Sullivan communicates easily and professionally with constituents, is always so well prepared for meetings and most importantly, truly cares about the students. She puts the students and their parents at the center of all the decisions she makes. As her fellow board members have said, those who are fortunate enough to work with Ms. Sullivan come away with a better understanding of whatever subject is being tackled.
