'Smash-And-Grab' Theft Reported At Wyckoff Jewelry Store: Police
A group of three people broke into a Wyckoff jewelry store and stole an unspecified amount of merchandise, police said.
WYCKOFF, NJ — A group of three people busted their way through the glass front door of a Wyckoff jewelry store just after midnight on Sunday to steal items out of the display cases, police Lt. Kevin Kasak said.
The trio rolled up in a red Honda Accord to Devon Fine Jewelry and smashed the glass displays inside to remove the contents, Kasak said. Police responded to the activated burglar alarm at the jewelry store on 303 Franklin Avenue.
Surveillance video showed one of the suspects use a crowbar to break the glass, and another use a gray trash can from the car to clear the broken glass from the doorway. The stolen items were placed inside of the trash can, which was returned to the car, and the suspects drove away down Franklin Avenue.

Store manager Debora Swinney said the theft itself was "minimal," and that the accused were inside the store for all of two minutes before making off with the stolen goods.

"We have a very loud alarm system, and that probably scared them off," Swinney said.
No one was inside the store at the time of the theft, she added.
