Stolen Car, Intoxicated Driver: Wyckoff Police Blotter

Police responded to a number of incidents, including a report of a stolen vehicle and an arrest of an intoxicated driver.

WYCKOFF, NJ - Police responded to a number of incidents over the past few days, including a report of a stolen vehicle and an arrest of an intoxicated driver.

Drug Possession

  • On October 14 at approximately 2:00 PM, Sgt. Mark Tagliareni was monitoring traffic on Route 208 North. He observed the driver of a black Toyota Corolla make an unsafe lane change. The vehicle was stopped and the subsequent investigation resulted in the arrests of a 27-year-old man from Astoria NY and a 28-year-old man from New York NY. Both were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. After processing, they were released from custody pending a court date.

Driving While Intoxicated

  • On October 20 at approximately 3:00 PM, Wyckoff and Midland Park officers were dispatched to the area of Park Avenue and Dale Avenue on a report of an erratic driver. While responding to the area, officers were advised that the driver of the vehicle had struck a utility pole on Dale Avenue. The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 60-year-old Waldwick man. He was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded and held for 12 hours under John’s Law. The investigation was conducted by Sgt. Mark Tagliareni, P.O. Terrence Murphy, and P.O. Kaitlyn Maglione.

Impaired Woman

  • On October 23 at approximately 8:00 PM, P.O. Terrence Murphy was dispatched to a local business on a report of an impaired person. The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old Saddle River woman. She was transported into headquarters, processed, and charged with driving while intoxicated. Her vehicle was impounded and held for 12 hours under John’s Law. She was released to the custody of a friend pending a court date.

Stolen Car

  • On October 24 at approximately 7:00 AM, a resident of Patton Place reported the theft of a vehicle from her driveway during the overnight hours. The resident reported that she left her white 2015 Mercedes Benz unlocked with the key fob inside of it. She last saw the Mercedes in her driveway at approximately 10:00 PM.
