The Week Ahead

School board to present budget to municipal council, wine tasting fundraiser and a helping hand for a child with cystic fibrosis.

The Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education is meeting Monday at 8 p.m. in the District Conference Room on the Indian Hills campus. The agenda is attached.

Tuesday night, the Mayor and Council will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall. The agenda is attached. At the meeting, the council is expected to vote to approve two no left turns, one coming out of Franklin Crossing and the other at the southern intersection of Colonial and McCoy roads, which was the site of a fatal accident on Christmas Eve. The no left turn sign has already been posted. 

The council will be introducing four new ordinances, one amending Recreation Fees, a salary ordinance, a swimming pool and fences law and a Riparian Zone ordinance.

Dr. Frank Romano, Superintendent of Schools, will be presenting the 2011-12 local school budget to the council at the meeting.

On Wednesday, the Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall. As of Monday morning, the agenda was not yet available.

Fundraisers

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., come to the Endless Vine to support a little boy with Cystic Fibrosis. The Pat Bianco Band and Mood Swing will be playing for donations to help defray medical costs for the family of Marty Tranes.

On Friday night, the Franklin Lakes Lions Club is hosting a wine tasting Fundraiser at the Indian Trail Club. The Lions Club primarily supports sight and blindness prevention, as well as other local causes. At Indian Hills High on Friday night Teen Kula for Karma, an organization that provides yoga to populations that wouldn’t ordinarily have access to it, is hosting Teen Kula Idol competition. For tickets, stop by Stage Left Fashions in Franklin Crossing.
