Masked Man Robs 82-Year-Old Woman At Wyckoff ATM: Police

WYCKOFF, NJ — An 82-year-old Wyckoff woman reported she was robbed of her wallet Wednesday after she had just withdrawn $200 from an ATM at Chase Bank on Cedar Hill Avenue, police Lt. Joseph Soto said.

Prior to using the ATM, she reported, an unknown man wearing a surgical mask and sweatshirt had used it. As she returned to her car, the man pointed out to her that she had dropped coins that were near her vehicle. She leaned over to pick up the coins and got into her car.

It was then that she realized her wallet had been removed from her unzipped purse. Her belief, she told police, was that the man used the coins to distract her while he stole her wallet.

Police are investigating the incident, Soto said.
