WYCKOFF, NJ — Installation of a water main on Helena Avenue in Wyckoff in the coming days might cause delays or inconveniences to the neighborhood, the township said last week in a motorist alert on its website.

Ridgewood Water, a public water supply utility serving four Bergen County municipalities, including Wyckoff, is installing a water main on a narrow portion of Helena Avenue.

Expected to take approximately 30 days to complete, work on the project will take place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the township said it needs resident cooperation to "keep the project moving."

"If you live in the narrow section or beyond, we suggest moving your vehicles closer to Russell Avenue each morning before 6 a.m. or the evening before to facilitate safely exiting the neighborhood," the township said, asking also that residents park on one side of the road to allow free flow of traffic.

The township also asks that residents place trash and recycling curbside the evening before collections to ensure requested early pick-ups can take place.
