Wyckoff Dems Pick 3 Nominees To Fill Scanlan's Council Seat
The local Democratic Committee unanimously selected Lisa Eidel, Elizabeth Fischer and Carla Pappalardo as nominees.
WYCKOFF, NJ –Wyckoff’s Bergen County Democratic Committee has selected three residents for the township council to choose from to fill Brian Scanlan’s seat.
Following Scanlan’s Nov. 5 resignation, the Democratic Committee voted to pick Lisa Eidel, Elizabeth Fischer and Carla Pappalardo as nominees for the governing body to consider.
In a letter to township officials, Sarah Derico, the Democratic Committee’s chair, said, “Any of these women would be an excellent choice to join you in leading our town’s government.”

The governing body now has 30 days to pick a nominee to serve out the remainder of Scanlan's term.
Scanlan, the township committee’s first Democrat to be elected in 75 years, resigned with about a year left in his fourth term.

Scanlan, who plans to commit more time to environmental issues, "The last 11 years have been very rewarding, and it has also been a pleasure working with you all."
