Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes Schools to Have Delayed Opening Monday

The delay comes after the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes Public Schools will follow a 90-minute delayed opening schedule on Monday, March 2 “due to the weather conditions and icing.”

All Wyckoff stuents in grades K-8 should report to their bus stops and/or schools 90 minutes after their usual reporting time, Wyckoff Public Schools Superintendent Richard Kudar said. Eisenhower’s starting time will be 9:30 a.m. and the elementary starting time is 10:20 a.m. Morning PreK should report at 10:20 a.m. and the afternoon session should report at its regular time. All before school activities are canceled.

Franklin Lakes students in grades 6-8 will start at 9:35 a.m. and grades K-5 will start at 10:20 a.m.

The delayed openings come after Winter Storm Sparta brought its “expansive” stripe of snow, sleet and freezing rain to New Jersey on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says a ”Winter Weather Advisory” will be in effect from 10 a.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday, saying a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain will cover the entire state.

The weather conditions also have the potential to create a messy commute Monday morning.
