Bellmore Man Dies in Upstate ATV Accident
Accident occurred Sunday morning, police say.

A Bellmore man died in an ATV accident upstate Sunday, according to New York State Police.
At 9:34 p.m., police received a 911 call about an ATV accident in the Town of Tompkins in Delaware County, cops said. Responders found the body of a man, identified as Keith Stratton, 36, in a shallow creek near an overturned ATV, police said.
Investigators found that Stratton had been at a family party at a home on Apex Road when he decided to go for a ride, cops said. Stratton had tried to make a right turn but lost control and flipped the vehicle into a creek, police said.

Officials said Stratton was not wearing a helmet and that “alcohol was a factor in the accident.”
