$1.5M Worth Of Jewelry Nearly Stolen From Brooklyn Macy's: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for the suspect who tried to steal over one million dollars worth of jewelry from a Macy’s in Brooklyn on Monday.

The incident happened at a Macy's store located at 422 Fulton St. in Downtown Brooklyn around 10:15 p.m., police said.

The suspect is accused of entering the store after it was closed and tried to make off with $1.5 million in jewelry, concealing the items in suitcases.

A store employee confronted the suspect, who then proceeded to drop the suitcases and flee the scene, police said.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

The NYPD released surveillances images of the suspect on Tuesday.

The individual was seen wearing a black Nike beanie, black winter coat, black jeans and boots.
