BROOKLYN, NY — Two Good Samaritans were attacked by a knife-wielding stalker in Brooklyn early Saturday morning, police said.

The suspect, described by police as a 5’8″man, allegedly stabbed a 26-year-old man in the chest and shoulder, and a 29-year-old man in the face around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Kensington.

According to the NYPD, both men had come to assist a woman after spotting a social media alert warning about a stalker. Upon arriving at the location, the pair were reportedly confronted and attacked by the suspect.

Both men were taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

An NYPD spokesperson said that the attack was likely not the first encounter the two men had with the suspect that night. About half an hour earlier, a 31-year-old woman walking home from work approached the two men, telling them she was being followed, feared for her life, and asked for their help to escort her home.

The men quickly agreed and safely escorted her home, police said.

Police believe the suspected stalker who attacked the two men is the same individual who had been following both women.

The suspect, estimated to weigh around 165 pounds, was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and matching gray sweatpants. The NYPD has released surveillance footage of the individual.
