Suspect Accused Of Torching 11 NYPD Vehicles Arrested, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN, NY — A suspect wanted for setting fire to 11 NYPD vehicles in June has been arrested, police said Monday.

Jakhi Lodgson-McCray, 21, was wanted in connection with the June 12 incident, Patch previously reported.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at a parking lot on the intersection of Central and DeKalb avenues in Brooklyn near the 83rd Precinct station house, Patch previously reported.

The NYPD had been offering a reward up to $30,000 for information leading to the arrest of the 21-year-old suspect.

Lodgson-McCray is accused of climbing over a gate and placing fire starters on the windshields, hoods, and tires of multiple NYPD vehicles. A fire ignited, causing severe damage to 11 NYPD vehicles, police said.

The 21-year-old turned himself in to federal authorities on Monday and is expected to be arraigned on charges later in the day.
