Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- A 13-year-old Bedford-Stuyvesant boy was reported missing on Monday. Ahmir Jordan was last seen at Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School around 2:30 in the afternoon, wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, white Nike sneakers, and carrying a brown backpack. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the police. (NBC New York)
- The death of a knife-wielding man involved in the police shooting on Monday morning has been deemed a "suicide by cop." It is believed that the man, identified as Eudes Pierre, had intentionally provoked the police because he hoped to end his own life. Police obtained a suicide note at Pierre's residence following the incident. (amNY)
- Renderings have been revealed for the next phase of construction on Neptune/Sixth, an expanding mixed-use community in Coney Island. This phase will include the construction of three new towers that will house apartments, various amenities, commercial space, and 535 parking spaces. Residents will have access to a fitness center with saunas, as well as a basketball court. (New York YIMBY)
