BROOKLYN, NY — Bernie Sanders, Democratic presidential primary underdog and Brooklyn native, has two impromptu hometown rallies, which he's calling "A Future to Believe In" rallies, on his schedule for Friday afternoon.

The first event will open at 1 p.m. on the block where Sanders grew up in Flatbush. (Well, technically Midwood, but he's calling it Flatbush.) Sanders likely won't be speaking until a couple hours later.

Rallygoers are asked to gather at Sanders' old school, James Madison High School, at Avenue P and East 26th St. "Tickets are not required, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged," the event website says. "Admission is first come, first served."

Actor Mark Ruffalo will be tagging along in Flatbush, according to the Sanders campaign.

You can RSVP for the Flatbush event here.

East 26th Street is blocked off Friday afternoon between Avenue P and Kings Highway, and will stay that way until the crowd has cleared out, police said.

Sanders will be speaking directly in front of his old home on East 26th, according to Patch's reporter at the scene.

The second rally will open at 3 p.m. at a waterfront park in Greenpoint — specifically, WNYC Transmitter Park. The rally entrance will be located at 2 Greenpoint Ave.

Again, Sanders probably won't address the crowd until a couple hours later. And again, "Tickets are not required, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served."

Actress Susan Sarandon will reportedly join Sanders up in Greenpoint.

You can RSVP for the Greenpoint event here.

No street closures will be necessary in Greenpoint this afternoon, an NYPD spokesman said, because the event is contained inside the park.

At both rallies, the Sanders campaign has advised:

For security reasons, please do not bring bags and limit what you bring to small, personal items like keys and cell phones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed through security. Parking is not available on-site, public transportation is encouraged.

Please take photos and video at the event, and post them to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #BernieInBrooklyn. We'd love to see your photos!

Local deejay Jeff Conklin tweeted around noontime Friday that the Lite Bites cafe in Greenpoint, near Sanders' rally spot, appeared to be filled with "secret service" awaiting the candidate's arrival.
