Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- The Broadway Junction subway station, one of Brooklyn's busiest, will finally become accessible to people with disabilities with the construction of seven new elevators. $15 million has been allocated to the project, which will also include ramps and platforms modifications. The lack of accessibility of this station and others has frustrated disabled riders for years. (Brooklyn Paper)
- As the holiday season approaches, the threat of COVID-19 still looms as families and friends prepare for larger gatherings than those in 2020. Brooklyn has lagged behind the other four boroughs in the prevention of COVID-19 in its neighborhoods. Williamsburg has recorded more cases in recent weeks than any other neighborhood in New York City. (Brooklyn Paper)
