Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
- A Brooklyn nanny was critically injured while crossing the street, while she was trying to save the child in her care. She was struck by a 2011 Dodge Ram while crossing Union Street in the Park Slope neighborhood. She was able to push the one-year-old's strollers out of the way in time, but was unable to avoid the vehicle. Our thoughts are with the victim's family while she recovers in intensive care. (MetroLaw)
- An apartment fire in Prospect Heights left one injured on Thursday night. The severity of the person's injuries are unknown, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. (MetroLaw)
- The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and the Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation will highlight the seven day celebration of Kwanzaa, beginning on Dec. 26. The city's largest festival celebrating the holiday begins on Sunday. (CBS New York)
