Brooklyn Restaurant Owner Dies Before Trump's Visit: Reports

Presidential candidate Donald Trump was scheduled to visit Gottlieb's Restaurant but canceled when the owner suddenly died.

BROOKLYN, NY — Yosef Gottlieb, the owner of Gottlieb's Restaurant in Williamsburg, died just hours before Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was supposed to make an appearance on Thursday, according to several reports.

Due to his sudden death, the campaign stop at the old-school Kosher deli was canceled, according to the Yeshiva World News.

Gottlieb, a hardworking dad, was hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this week and died after suffering cardiac problems Thursday, according to the New York Post.

Trump had planned to stop at Gottlieb's on his way to Washington, D.C. to speak at a “Combatting Antisemitism” event, the New York Post reported.

The restaurant at 352 Roebling St. will be closed for the next seven days for mourning.
