Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A 46-year-old man was shot in the head, and two others were wounded by gunfire in a Brooklyn event hall early on Thursday morning. The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The details of this incident are unclear, and no arrests have yet been made. (NBC New York)
  2. Two thieves responsible for a string of robberies of Brooklyn grocery stores have stolen nearly $30,000 cash. In the case of all six distinct incidents, the two men have entered the grocery stores through the buildings' rooftops. Anyone with information is being asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. (NBC New York)
  3. The NYPD is searching for a suspect who slashed a 77-year-old man on a northbound A train in Brooklyn. At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 2, the suspect was involved in an argument with the senior citizen before proceeding to cut him with an unknown object on the calf. The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect. (AMNY)
