Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Avenue Y in Coney Island, leaving them with injuries. EMS responded to the accident and provided medical assistance to the injured pedestrian on site. The victim was eventually transported to a local hospital. (Local Accident Reports)
  2. Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 832 Rutland Rd. in East Flatbush. The proposed development will feature 321 residences along with 24,732 square feet dedicated to commercial space. Demolition permits for the existing parking lot on the site have not yet been filed. (New York YIMBY)
  3. A pair of individuals swindled a seller on Facebook Marketplace who had agreed to sell a Playstation 5 for $750. Police have said that the victim's Tesla car recorded the incident, and you can witness one of the suspects grabbing the gaming console out of the seller's hand while the other suspect counts bills for the purchase. No injuries were reported in connection to the theft. (WPIX 11 New York)
