Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A Brooklyn man was shot and killed outside of his home in Cypress Hills in the early hours on Wednesday morning. The unknown suspect approached 36-year-old Modassar Khandaker as he exited his white Honda and shot him in the head. Residents of the Bangladeshi neighborhood are in shock and are concerned for the safety of themselves and their children after this horrifying attack. (WABC-TV)
  2. The NYPD released videos of a home invasion in Coney Island which left a 37-year-old victim taped and zip tied while the suspects ransacked his apartment. The two suspects left after stealing two watches, and the victim was uninjured in the invasion. Investigators are seeking the public's help to track down the suspects. (WABC-TV)
  3. The Flatbush Caton Market has reopened at the same location with a new name, Flatbush Central Market. The new store inhabits the ground floor of a 14-story residential building and opened last week. A formal grand opening and ribbon cutting will occur once warmer weather hits the city. (Brooklyn Paper)
  4. The Brooklyn Tower's facade reached its final residential height at the superstructure at 9 DeKalb Ave. The 1,066-foot, 93-story tower will yield 550 units, 150 of which will be available to purchase. The tower is planned to launch occupancy in late 2022. (New York YIMBY)
