🌱 Elderly Pedestrian Hit On McGuinness + East New York Shooting

Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- A 75-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by car in Greenpoint. The elderly woman was crossing McGuinness Boulevard at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday night when she was struck by a 70-year-old driver in a Lincoln. McGuinness Boulevard is notoriously dangerous for pedestrians, and neighborhood residents have long been calling for better safety measures. (Brooklyn Paper)
- A woman was shot in the abdomen in an East New York apartment building on Tuesday morning and is expected to survive her injuries. She was transported to Brookdale Hospital from the crime scene at 165 Fountain Ave. The NYPD is searching for a man in his 20s who fled the scene and is currently the main suspect. (Brooklyn Paper)
- An explosion at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Tuesday morning left a mechanic with serious injuries. According to authorities, there was a small explosion while the victim was working on a vessel in one of the dry-docks. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
