Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
- Several people were stabbed during a fight with a group of teenagers on Tuesday. The incident occurred on the platform of the J/Z line at the Flushing Avenue station at around 3:20 p.m. and resulted in four male victims being stabbed. The victims all walked to nearby Woodhull Hospital in stable condition. (ABC 7 NY)
- Data from the Department of Education shows that public school students in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill have been vaccinated against COVID-19 at rates slower than the rest of the city. Across the 13 schools in the neighborhood, 56.5 percent of students have gotten at least one dose, slightly lower than the citywide average of 59.3 percent. Education officials announced that New York City public schools could be going mask-free outdoors starting this week. (Patch)
- Permits have been filed to convert a two-story commercial building at 1374 Myrtle Ave. into a five-story mixed-use development. The Bushwick location is steps from the Knickerbocker Avenue subway station, and the proposed development will yield 25,349 square feet. The building will house 30 residences across 20,274 square feet of residential space. (New York YIMBY)
