BROOKLYN, NY — Police are investigating a possible homicide after a man was found dead with neck injuries in Brooklyn Saturday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call about a man in need of help around 7:50 a.m. Saturday outside 197 Snediker Ave., in an industrial area of East New York, according to the NYPD.

The man, 60, was found unconscious and unresponsive with signs of neck trauma, authorities said.

EMS arrived and declared the man dead at the scene. Reports from amNewYork say he was found sitting in the passenger seat of an abandoned ambulance, showing what police described as “suspicious” neck trauma.

Police have withheld the man’s identity pending family notification.

An NYPD spokesperson told Patch that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, and that the investigation remains ongoing.
