MTA Bus Strikes 87-Year-Old Crossing Brooklyn Street, Police Say
An 87-year-old man remained in critical condition Tuesday morning after being struck by an MTA bus in Brooklyn Monday night.

BROOKLYN, NY — An elderly man was left in critical condition after being struck by an MTA bus while waiting to cross a Brooklyn street, according to the NYPD.
The 87-year-old man was standing at the corner of East 12th Street and Avenue Z around 6:40 p.m. on Monday when he was struck by an MTA bus making a left turn, police said.
Responding officers found the man pinned beneath the city bus, and rushed him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in critical condition, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said the 34-year-old bus driver remained at the scene during the investigation. The bus was not in service at the time of the incident, and no passengers were on board, officials added.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
