Man Beaten With His Own Cane In NYC Subway Assault, NYPD Says
The attack occurred just after 4 p.m. Monday inside a Brooklyn subway station, according to police.

BROOKLYN, NY — A straphanger was attacked with his own cane by a stranger while attempting to board a Brooklyn-bound subway train, the NYPD said.
The 73-year-old man was trying to board a southbound N train at the 86th Street subway station around 4 p.m. Monday when a stranger approached and started a verbal dispute, according to police.
Shortly after, the attacker grabbed the victim’s cane and struck him multiple times in the head and body, causing a laceration to his right eye and a fractured left arm, police said.

The attacker then ran toward the station exit, police said.
The 73-year-old was taken to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn for treatment and is currently in stable condition, police said.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, the suspect was last seen wearing a white tank top, black pants, and gray sneakers.
