Man Found Dead In Brooklyn Apartment Identified, Police Say

The incident has been deemed a homicide by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.​

BROOKLYN, NY — A 60-year-old man found dead in a Brooklyn apartment this past weekend has been identified, police announced on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Hampshire, police said.

Officers found the victim unresponsive on June 22 around 6:30 p.m. inside 1069 Sterling Place. Police were called to the scene to perform a wellness check.

The 60-year-old was found with trauma to the head, police said. Hampshire was pronounced dead at the scene.
