BROOKLYN, NY — A man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn, New York City Police Department officials said Monday.

According to the NYPD, the man was crossing East New York Avenue near Broadway—by the Alabama Avenue subway station—around 10 p.m. Thursday, when an unknown driver in a gray Ford rammed into him and fled the scene.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old Nyron Shaw, was rushed to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police have not made any arrests yet, but an investigation is underway by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
