BROOKLYN, NY — A man was found fatally stabbed on a Brooklyn street early Sunday morning, according to the New York City Police Department.

According to the NYPD, the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest with an unknown weapon just after 1 a.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, close to P.S. 325 elementary school.

By the time police arrived, the attacker had fled and the victim was found with severe injuries. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his wounds, police said.

As of Monday morning, the victim’s name had not been released, as police were still working to notify his family, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

According to police, no arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing, and the circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain unclear.
