Siblings Vanish From Brooklyn Home With Suitcase, Missing Weeks Later

Teenage siblings were still missing after leaving their home with suitcases in July, police say.

BROWNSVILLE, NY — Teenage siblings vanished after leaving their Brownsville home with suitcases weeks ago, police said Wednesday.

Shalya Durant, 16, and Saibien Durant, 15, were last seen leaving their home on Strauss Street between Dumont and Blake avenues July 25 about 10:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Each sibling had a suitcase, police say.

Shalya is described as a female, 5'00" tall and about 110 pounds. Saibien is described as a male, 5'6" tall and 170 pounds.

Anyone with information on the siblings' location was encouraged to call 1-800-577-8477, 1-888-577-4782 for Spanish or submit tips online.
