MTA Worker Attacked In Brooklyn Subway Station, Police Say
Police say a 68-year-old MTA worker was attacked shortly after midnight Thursday at the Bergen Street subway station in Boerum Hill.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police say a suspect armed with a metal pipe attacked a 68-year-old MTA worker at a Brooklyn subway station late last week.
According to the NYPD, just before 12:15 a.m. Thursday at the Bergen Street F/G station in Boerum Hill, an unidentified man attacked an on-duty MTA worker who was cleaning the platform at the time of the attack.
Police said the suspect swung a metal pipe, trying to hit the worker but missed. During the struggle that followed, the MTA worker was punched and knocked to the ground.

The attacker then fled the scene on foot, police said.
The MTA employee was taken to NYU Langone Health-Cobble Hill in stable condition, NYPD officials said.

No arrests have been made so far, but the investigation is ongoing. Police have released the following surveillance photo, authorities said.

This is the latest incident in a recent surge of attacks on MTA transit employees.
Last week, a man sucker-punched a 55-year-old subway conductor while he was operating an uptown-bound 5 train. On May 13, a 71-year-old bus driver was attacked with a wrench by another assailant.
Also on May 10, two people were hit on the head with metal pipes while riding MTA buses in the Bronx.
