Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- NYPD officers fatally shot and killed a man armed with a knife, who allegedly charged at the officers. The NYPD responded to a call around 4:10 a.m. about a suspect with a knife and a firearm. Reports have alleged that officers tried unsuccessfully to get the man to drop his knife and resorted to firing upon the suspect after tasers proved ineffective. (NBC New York)
- The NYPD has released an image of a suspect connected to a shooting on a moving subway train in Brooklyn. The 28-year-old shooting victim is thought to have been engaged in an argument with the suspect before being shot twice. The victim was last reported to be in serious, but stable condition. The suspect fled when the train stopped at the Grant Avenue station in East New York. (CBS New York)
- An anti-vaccine protester was arrested in a Brooklyn Panera Bread when he and other members of a “disorderly group," refused to leave the establishment. The same group had visited five Panera locations prior to the incident in protest of the vaccination requirement for dining-in. (New York Post)
