Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. Brownsville High School students were surprised in class with a visit from State Senator Zellnor Myrie. Senator Myrie attended a high school history class, where he was able to share some of his own background, as well as encourage teens to get involved in local politics. Topics such as early voting, the state of the New York City mayoral race and others were discussed. (Brooklyn Reader)
  2. Community members gathered on Saturday for a march to honor victims of domestic violence. This march serves as both a moment of empowerment, and as a time to honor those who have died from domestic abuse. The annual walk began in 2019, and marchers processed from Borough Hall across the Brooklyn Bridge, and ended at City Hall in Manhattan. (News 12 Brooklyn)
