Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
- A 32-year-old man was arrested for the Brooklyn subway station shoving incident which left a 45-year-old victim with a fractured spine and ribs. David Rivera, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with assault, menacing, criminal trespass and harassment in connection to the attack at the Atlantic Avenue station. (New York Post)
- A 28-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested for shooting and killing 24-year-old Benjamin Brown in broad daylight. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Halloween on Willoughby Avenue. The alleged gunman and the victim are known to have grown up in the same building, and reports indicate that they had been childhood friends. (New York Daily News)
- NYPD are searching for the suspects in an incident involving racist flyers being placed outside of a Brooklyn high school. The flyers were posted around the Abraham Lincoln High School campus in Coney Island. The materials in questions contain "vile, racist, horrific, and hateful" language as stated by City Councilman Mark Treyger. (New York Post)
