Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- Nia Jasmine Reynolds filed suit against the NYPD, alleging that they allowed Officer Rohan Shaw to escape criminal charges. Reynolds survived a fatal car crash, in which off-duty Officer Shaw t-boned her vehicle, immediately killing the driver, Kwesi Vidale. Shaw was initially charged with criminally negligent homicide before the Brooklyn District Attorney's office declined to pursue charges. (Brooklyn Patch)
- Brooklyn police are searching for a man who attacked a group of men earlier this week. On Tuesday, Nov. 2, three men were speaking Cantonese before being mocked, and eventually assaulted by the suspect. The victims escaped the attack with minor injuries. - Natural stone experts Ciot is expanding its business into Brooklyn, moving into the iconic warehouse at 5302 2nd Ave. The warehouse, which was formerly a machine manufacturing company owned by E.W. Bliss, was transformed by interior design studio BxSM. (WFMZ Allentown)
