Teen Girl Dead After Benz Driver Runs Red Light In Cobble Hill: Cops
The Benz erupted in flames on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street early Friday morning, police said.

COBBLE HILL, NY — An 18-year-old girl was killed in a fiery Cobble Hill crash early Friday morning when a Mercedes Benz driver ran a red light smashed into another car, police said.
The Benz driver, 25, sped through the red on Court Street near Atlantic Avenue and slammed into a Honda Civic about 3:25 a.m., police said.
The crash set the Mercedes Benz ablaze and sent its driver running, but he was eventually caught and detained by police, the NYPD said.

The teen girl, the Honda driver, 32, a Honda passenger and a Benz passenger were rushed to an area hospital, but doctors could not save the 18-year-old's life, police said.
Two of the Honda passengers share the same last name, police said.

It was not immediately clear whether the driver of the Mercedes was speeding, but police said it was likely given the nature of damages.
