Teen Killed, Man Critically Injured In Brooklyn Moped Crash
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 17-year-old driver was killed and another man was critically injured in a moped collision Monday in Brooklyn, according to police.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Avenue K and Ocean Parkway, police said.
The teenager was riding a gas-powered moped with a passenger on the back, heading north on East 8th Street in Midwood when it collided with a Genesis G80 driven by a man making a left turn off East 8th Street, police said.

After the initial collision, the moped driver crashed into an unoccupied Honda Odyssey, throwing both the teen and his passenger from the vehicle.
EMS transported the teenager and his passenger to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition. The 17-year-old later died at the hospital, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

The driver of the Genesis G80 remained at the scene and was not injured.
No arrests have been made, and the NYPD Highway District Collision Squad is still investigating, police added.
