Watch Replay: Town Hall With Reps. Nydia Velazquez, Hakeem Jeffries, Yvette Clark About President Trump
The three U.S. Representatives from Brooklyn got together Monday at St. Francis College for a town hall meeting with constituents.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Three U.S. Representatives from Brooklyn got together Monday night with a host of advocacy groups for a free town hall meeting about President Trump.
Nydia Velazquez, Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clark — all Democrats whose districts include much of Brooklyn — appeared on stage together at St. Francis College at 180 Remsen St. in Brooklyn Heights.
Velazquez, Jeffries and Clark have all been outspoken critics of the president, especially against his immigration policies, budget proposals and health care bill, all of which they say will negatively affect New Yorkers. The latter was one of the topics du jour, as the trio returned from Washington after last week's House passage of the American Health Care Act.

Previous story below:
Velazquez represents New York's 7th district, which includes parts of lower Manhattan, North Brooklyn and West Brooklyn. You can see her district map here.
Jeffries represents the New York 8th, which includes Central and Eastern Brooklyn, along with a Southwest part of Queens. That district map is here.
And Clarke's 9th district covers the rest of Central Brooklyn and some Southern parts of the borough. See her district map here.
The three representatives were forceful in their denunciations of Thursday's House vote, which sends the ACHA to the Senate, where it will likely be modified.
"Today, House Republicans bowed to pressure from their extremist political base and the Trump White House. Rather than looking out for the people who sent them to Congress, they voted to kick 24 million Americans off their health insurance," Velazquez said in a statement.
"They voted in favor of a crushing age tax that will impose premiums on older Americans five times higher than what others pay for coverage. For those Americans who do retain coverage, they voted to raise premiums and deductibles, increasing out-of-pocket costs for working families. They voted to shorten the life of the Medicare Trust Fund and siphon off resources that seniors depend on for long-term care.
"Finally, and perhaps most cruelly, they voted to gut protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions. The latest version of this bill – which they voted on without even a Congressional Budget Office analysis – puts another paltry $8 billion toward high-risk pools. Not only has every credible source said this funding is insufficient to protect these Americans, but the approach of high-risk pools have been tried in the past and the result has been the same: health insurance has become out of the reach of those with these conditions."
Clarke, on Facebook, said "Trump and Congressional Republicans took a victory lap around the Rose Garden today. Apparently, to them, snatching health care away from 24 million people is worth celebrating.
Warning to Republicans: The American people WILL hold you accountable for today's vote. The people WILL remember."
Jeffries was the most succinct of the bunch, telling House Republicans simply: "You will be held accountable for the cruel and unusual punishment you have inflicted on the American people."
