Deer Park Downtown Revitalization: Community Meeting Planned
Deer Park civic group is hosting a discussion with Supervisor Rich Schaffer.

DEER PARK, NY — Deer Park residents are invited to a community meeting next week to discuss revitalization plans for the downtown area. The Deer Park Community Association is hosting the forum March 11 at The Board of Education building at 1881 Deer Park Avenue from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer will be the guest speaker. Residents are encouraged to make suggestions about what they'd like to see included in a Deer Park downtown revitalization effort. President of the association Gina Costa- Lieneck told Patch that they are working with the Town of Babylon to apply for a Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization grant and that she and Schaffer want to hear feedback from residents on their priorities for Deer Park's downtown.
The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce created a survey last spring that found a majority of Deer Park residents supported the creation of an official downtown district.
